Programs
1. Career Awareness Seminar at ITI College
We conduct Career awareness workshop at Maa Shanti Pvt ITI College, Babuganj, Phulpur, Prayagraj for the Girls & Women of Rural Area and Volunteers in Rural Area. This seminar will focus on “importance of Women Empowerment & Employment Training Programme” at school level and encourage students, Teachers & Parents to participate. We share emerging industry trends and practices so that students can decide career of their interest. We also invite local successful people to share their journey so that students can relate easily.
2. Career Helpline
We have established a student career Helpline where students can call and speak to a domain-specific career expert/mentor over the phone and can get answers to all career-related queries. This helpline is available for all students in Hindi and English currently, and we take help of employees to provide regional language support to the students around your office.
3. One-to-one Career Guidance
In this session, we invite 40-50 volunteers from rural area students who would undergo a short career mentoring workshop with us prior to conducting one-to-one sessions at Maa Shanti Pvt ITI College. On the day of the seminar, we take all volunteers to schools where each volunteer speaks to a student for 10-15 minutes and encourages the student to open up and share what they want to be in life. Based on their discussion, volunteers provide initial level of career mentoring to a student.
4. Digital Platform
We have developed a digital platform which is available for students to access more details about each career. This platform provides details of 25+ career options along with job description, role, growth opportunities, path of education, work environment, job role requirements, and details of leading institutes for study.
5. Distribution of Digital Device
We provide Digital Devices for higher studies and for regular skill development courses to talented students who pass 10th and 12th class and come from a poor economic background. This Digital Device is currently provided to students from 12th to graduation final year in Prayagraj; however, we are looking to support students outside as well.
Outcomes
Following are the key objectives of our Women Empowerment and Employment Training solution:
- Skilled Women in Rural Areas are now Self-Dependent and capable of starting their own businesses in sectors like Beauty Parlor, Dress Making, and Baking Cakes, etc.
- Awareness about various career options for skilled youth, volunteers, and women in rural areas.
- Reduction in wastage of time & money of human capital: Many youth will get into a better career option immediately after completion of studies, avoiding aimless preparation.
Impact Assessment
Our Women Empowerment and Employment Training Programme model is a proactive action to reduce un-employability among literate or illiterate women and girls; it is not a corrective action like providing skill development trainings after completing their education. We conduct impact assessments at the following steps:
- Before conducting Career seminar or displaying career charts at villages
- Within 2 weeks of conducting career awareness workshop at villages
- After 10th or 12th class result is announced to know if students are taking the right subjects
- Women are self-dependent and confident with our training programme
- Quality of calls we get from students/women/youth at our career Helpline
